Pakistan Science Foundation is pleased to announce the establishment of the “Dr. Z. A. Hashmi R&D Gold Medal” in the name of its Founder Chairman, Late Dr. Z. A. Hashmi. The medal is awarded each year on competition basis to the Principal Investigators of PSF supported research projects sanctioned during the last 10 years starting from July 1995 onwards.

The Gold Medal carries with it a Certificate of Recognition and a Cash Award of Rs.100,000/- (Rupees One Hundred Thousand only). The Medals for 2006 and 2007 went to Dr. Aly Khan of CDRI, PARC, Karachi and Prof. Dr. M. Zakaullah of Physics Department, QAU, Islamabad and the Medal for the year 2008 and 2009 will be contested by the Principal Investigators of PSF supported projects implemented during July 1997 – June 2007 and July 1998 – June 2008 respectively.

All Principal Investigators/Researchers of PSF-supported research projects undertaken during July 1997 to June 2008, are invited and encouraged to participate in the competition. The applications/candidatures as per the criteria given below must reach the Member Science, PSF, latest by 10th November 2009.
