PASTIC is organizing a two days seminar 12-13 May, 2010 on “Implementing Information Security through selection of right IT Management Framework”. The main objective of the seminar is to create awareness about the importance of information security within organizations and adoption of the right management framework. The seminar would highlight the Information security policy of the Government of Pakistan. Participants have been invited from finance and banking sector, science & technology, higher education institutions, IT companies, Health sector, etc. Venue of the seminar is Pakistan Science Foundation, 1-Constitution Avenue, G-5/2, Islamabad.

Recently the Government of Pakistan has reduced the PSDP allocation for the project entitled "Participation of Scientists and Technologists in International Science Conferences, Seminars, Workshops and Trainings Abroad" from Rs. 10.0 million to Rs. 2.0 million only. This amount has already been committed by PSF. It is, therefore not possible for PSF to consider any more requests for Travel Grants during the current year. The programme has been temporarily suspended and fresh applications are not entertained.
